Safety on Roblox

Since 2004, Roblox has built a foundation of promoting safety and civility with one goal in mind: to lead the world in safety for online gaming. This leadership translates the way we think about promoting a safe environment for brands to connect, engage, and delight users.

Standards that safeguard our community

How do we curate the space where ads will show up? By enforcing strict adherence to our community, advertising, and publishing standards, we create a welcoming space for brands and users alike.

AI & human moderation

We use advanced AI — combining language and multimodal models — to enforce our Community Standards and protect users and brands across all platform interactions.

Advertising standards

Our standards aim to foster a transparent, safe, and civil experience for users, advertisers, and publishers. These standards govern what ad content is allowed, how ads are labeled, and who can view them.

POLICY & ENFORCEMENT HIGHLIGHTS

Community standards

Extreme violence, discussion or depictions of real-world sensitive events, sexual acts/nudity, hate speech or hate groups, the use of illegal drugs or regulated substances, and political content are not allowed on Roblox.

Publisher standards

To show ads, publishers must be 18+ with a verified ID and must complete the Maturity & Compliance Questionnaire. Those who do not meet these requirements may lose publishing eligibility.

User eligibility

Even if an experience is eligible to serve ads, not all users are eligible to see ads, including those under the age of 13 and those outside of a campaign's audience selection.

Brand suitability solutions

How can you ensure you only serve ads in the right environments for your brand? Roblox uses technology and curation to help give brands controls to connect with the right audiences — safely and appropriately.

Brand suitability controls

With brand suitability inventory selection for ads, you have control over the types of content you can expect your ads to appear alongside.

Content maturity

Content maturity provides labels and descriptors on an experience's main details page. It includes the kinds of content the experience contains so you can make informed decisions about where you want ads to show up.

Ad reporting & insights

Through Roblox and partner reporting, you can assess the effectiveness of your campaign, budget, and targeting, while verifying audience, brand safety, and suitability with our reputable third-party partners.

Collaborations that promote brand safety & suitability

How can you verify our efforts with your own independent partners? We consult with third-party leaders in online safety to make Roblox a civil platform for everyone.
